The GSA schedule is a government wide acquisition contract with the federal government consisting of negotiated prices, terms and conditions for procuring commercial products and services.  To ensure they are getting the best price under the appropriate terms and conditions and in order to shorten and simplify procurement life cycles, government agencies often require a product to be purchased through a GSA contract.
