Actuated Medical’s first FDA cleared commercialized medical device, the TubeClear system, uses motion to mechanically clear sluggish and clogged feeding tubes while the tube remains in the patient. The device operates at the patient’s bedside, allowing clinicians to efficiently maintain feeding tube patency for optimum enteral therapy delivery. The TubeClear system is faster and more effective than the competition

When the Covid-19 pandemic caused PPE shortages, Actuated Medical quickly brought up an FDA cGMP compliant reusable face shield manufacturing line. These high quality and affordable face shields can be found in nursing homes, food production facilities, and schools. To date, Actuated has innovated its shields to include models for hard hats, football helmets, and children.

Penn State purchased Actuated Medical shields after reviewing others as part of a mask and face shield policy for researchers enabling them to work in close proximity.^1,2 Actuated’s face shields fogged less, were more durable and easier to clean/disinfect.

With many customers wearing the same face shield for 5 months or more, Actuated Medical face shields have a low total cost of ownership.

Actuated Medical is led by President and CEO Maureen L. Mulvihill, PhD. Maureen has been recognized over 34 times nationally and internationally for her entrepreneurial leadership. In 2017 she was a US delegate to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India. Due to her experience growing a start-up, in 2017 she was appointed to the AdvaMed Accel BOD to represent small emerging medical device companies. In 2020, she was elected to the Full AdvaMed BOD alongside larger medical device manufactures, including some Fortune 500 CEOs. She is an alumni of the competitive Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program. Maureen has advanced her CEO leadership skills under instruction of faculty from Babson College and Tuck School of Business of Dartmouth College.
