GMP Honors the National Center for Healthy Veterans:“The Day After — Rising from the Ashes”

September 12, 2025 – Valor Farm, Altavista, Virginia

The Spirit of Virginia Arena at Valor Farm came alive with hope and renewal as the National Center for Healthy Veterans (NCHV) hosted The Day After — Rising from the Ashes ribbon-cutting celebration. This event followed the devastating barn fire in November 2024 that threatened key operations of their Christ-centered veterans rehabilitation community.

For GMP President Greg Grazdan, who attended the ceremony, it was far more than a ribbon cutting. It was a vivid demonstration of faith after tragedy—a tangible reminder that, through Jesus Christ, beauty can rise from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

The very arena built on the site of loss now stands as a place of worship, community, and restoration, signaling that what the enemy meant for harm, God can use for good.

A Christ-Centered Path to Real Healing

Since 9/11, over 2.77 million U.S. service members have deployed worldwide. Many carry deep wounds—physical, emotional, and spiritual—that the typical care model struggles to heal.

While the Department of Veterans Affairs offers important services, too often veterans are prescribed layers of medication that bring severe side effects and may leave the heart of their pain untouched.

The National Center for Healthy Veterans provides a different way forward. As stated on their official About NCHV page:

“NCHV is a faith-based, Christian veterans rehabilitation center devoted to returning healthy veterans to America by integrating Christian best practices to heal mind, body, and spirit.”

Rather than simply manage symptoms, NCHV places Jesus Christ at the center of recovery, offering veterans the opportunity to rediscover purpose, family, and faith.

What Valor Farm Provides

Patriots live and heal in the tiny-home village at Valor Farm, a cornerstone of NCHV’s residential programs.

According to NCHV’s own program description, the one-year residential journey at Valor Farm includes:

  • Community Living – Patriots (participating veterans) live in tiny-home villages that combat isolation and nurture healthy relationships.

  • Dignified Work – Farm, ranch, and construction projects that develop skills and restore a sense of purpose.

  • Christian Trauma Recovery & Life Skills – Biblically grounded counseling, small groups, and life-skills classes.

  • Career Preparation – Including a faith-based “Jobs for Life” course during the final phase of the program.

  • Therapeutic Activities – Farming, equine and animal therapy, outdoor recreation, and family weekend camps.

  • Personal Development Plans – Individualized roadmaps for holistic growth in body, mind, and spirit.

  • Suicide Prevention – A core objective of NCHV’s mission.

This Christ-centered environment allows veterans to heal the whole person—spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical—so they can thrive as productive citizens, faithful family members, and servant-leaders.

Why It Should Inspire a New Standard of Care

The original Valor Farm barn burned down on November 10, 2024—a devastating loss for the National Center for Healthy Veterans and the veterans it serves.

The new Spirit of Virginia Arena now stands where the barn once was, a powerful symbol of faith and restoration—truly rising from the ashes.

The contrast is striking. Where conventional systems often rely on endless prescriptions, NCHV offers discipleship, meaningful work, and community accountability.

This holistic model addresses moral injury, trauma, and identity in ways no medication can.

For GMP, this is the gold standard of veteran care: a ministry that moves beyond temporary relief to lasting transformation through Christ.

GMP’s Commitment

“Valor Farm shows what it means to rebuild on the foundation of Jesus Christ,” said GMP President Greg Grazdan.
“It’s an honor to stand with NCHV as they turn tragedy into triumph.”

As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), GMP is committed to championing initiatives that not only serve veterans but also strengthen families, communities, and our nation’s moral fabric.

Hundreds gathered inside the Spirit of Virginia Arena for worship, testimonies, and the official ribbon cutting—celebrating God’s restoration after tragedy.
